Small groups, your language, planned around the weather

In Iceland the weather decides. Every morning we check the forecast and the roads and plan the day around them. Our guests do not see this part, only that they stop in the right places.

Hungarian, English, German
Dóra guides in all three languages, Levente in Hungarian and English. In a mixed group we say everything in two languages.
12 people at most
Our minibus has 12 seats, and on the glacier we go with 8 people at most. There is time for everyone.
If it is unsafe, we do not go
With a storm warning or a closed road we suggest a new day or give you the price back.

Summer or winter?

Two different countries on one island. If you have not decided yet, this helps.

Which tour suits you?

Three quick questions and we show you the trip we would suggest. It is how we start every conversation too.

Question 1 of 3

What would you like most?

Where do we take you?

Route 1, the Ring Road, goes 1,300 kilometres around the island. Most of our tours stay in the south-west and the south; the eight-day trip does the whole loop. Choose a region and the map shows the tour routes.

  • The first evening was cloudy, and Levente wrote in the afternoon that we should not go. The next day he took us above Þingvellir and the whole sky was green. Even my phone took good photos, because he showed me the settings.

  • Dóra guided the whole day in German, although half the group was Hungarian. We had an hour at Geysir and saw four eruptions. We would never have found the lunch place by the lake ourselves.

  • I had never been on a glacier and was nervous about the crampons. The glacier guide was patient and Dóra walked beside us the whole way. The blue ice in the crevasses looks better than in any photo.

We are Dóra and Levente, and we live in Reykjavík

We came to Iceland for a summer job in 2013 and stayed. Dóra is a geologist and tells you about the volcanoes and the glaciers. Levente drives the minibus and knows where the evening sky is clearer.

Besides the big sights, we take our guests to small villages, hot pools and bays the big coaches do not go to.

Travel guides

Good to know before you come

What our guests ask first: when to come, how to get into town, and what to wear.

  • When should you come?

In summer the days are long and every road is open. From September to April you can see the northern lights, and from November to March we can visit an ice cave.

  • How do you get to Reykjavík?

Keflavík airport is 50 kilometres from the city. The airport bus takes about 45 minutes, or we can pick you up at the airport on the Reykjanes tour.

  • What should you wear?

Layers: a base layer, a wool jumper, a waterproof jacket and trousers, and a hat and gloves even in summer. The full list is in our guide.
